Durant cette période\, il a eu la chance de travailler sur divers projets concernant les systèmes CVCA des centrales hydroélectriques. Par la suite\, pour approfondir ses connaissances en génie mécanique du bâtiment\, il a été à l’emploi de la firme Desjardins expert conseil en tant qu’ingénieur mécanique et directeur commercial pour plus de 7 ans. Cette expérience lui a permis de développer ses aptitudes dans la gestion et la conception des projets résidentiel\, commercial\, institutionnel\, industriel et agriculture-cannabis (indoor et des serres).  Assoiffé de défis\, il a été recruté par la firme LGT au titre de Directeur du secteur commercial. Ses compétences techniques\, son leadership et ses qualités de communicateur lui ont permis d’avoir l’opportunité de participer activement au développement de l’entreprise en plus d’être reconnu comme superviseur technique de l’équipe d’ingénierie. ​ \n\n\n\nCONFÉRENCE PRINCIPALE (20 H 00)\nCette présentation est commanditée par:    \nSUJET : IAQ and Cognitive Functioning in High Performing Buildings \nCette conférence sera présentée en anglais seulement. \nAchieving balance among desired goals for indoor air quality (IAQ)\, energy consumption\, and occupant comfort within the built environment is challenging. ASHRAE endeavors to achieve this through guidelines and standards focused on advancing building science as it relates to environmental quality. This article will review the commonly used design guides found in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1\, “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality.” \nThe current form of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1 employs two mechanical ventilation procedures to provide acceptable IAQ in buildings: the Ventilation Rate Procedure and the IAQ Procedure. While the Ventilation Rate Procedure provides only a dilution solution for the control of typical offending contaminants for a specified occupancy\, the IAQ Procedure provides a directed approach by reducing and controlling the concentrations of selected air contaminants of concern through both dilution and enhanced air cleaning. \nRather than relying only on diluting the concentration of contaminants with outdoor air\, designing with enhanced filtration of both recirculated and ventilation outdoor air can improve IAQ and result in the protection of the occupied space. \n\n  \n\n\n  \n  \n\n\nBrian P. His primary responsibilities were to establish and maintain a sales distribution network throughout the Americas’\, Middle East and Europe. His academic background comprises of a college degree in Applied Science (Building Systems Engineering Technology) from Vanier College of Montreal and a Bachelor of Building Engineering from Concordia University of Montreal. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Province of Quebec\, Canada\, and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia\, Canada. \nMr. Monk is an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer\, Member of Committee TC 2.3 Gaseous Air Contaminant Removal Equipment\, and TG HVAC Security.
